Ariane-friendly (and unfriendly) food guide

Severe Allergies

  • Shellfish (ALL types, very severe allergy)
  • Dairy (milk, butter, yogurt, cheese, casein, whey, etc. ALL dairy products from cow, goat, or otherwise) (severe digestive trigger)

Must also avoid

  • Gluten and most grains (wheat, barley, kamut, spelt, oats, buckwheat, etc.) (digestive trigger)
  • Yeast, alcohol, coffee, vinegar (candida/histamine)
  • Apples, pineapple, kiwi, banana, mango, banana, fig, avocado  (oral allergies)
  • Beans, legumes, lentils, fava beans, eggplant, cabbage, broccoli (severe digestive trigger)
  • Squash, sweet potato, zucchini, garlic, raw onion (digestive triggers)
  • Avocado, tomato, spinach, strawberry (histamines)
  • Walnuts, pecans, peanuts (digestive trigger)
  • Spicy food/black pepper (triggers asthma + digestive trigger)
  • Very fatty food, including fatty meat (digestive trigger)
  • Citrus (lemon/lime/grapefruit/orange/etc.), tomato (temporarily restricted for throat/reflux)
  • Egg white (histamine)
  • White potato (delayed allergic reaction)
  • Curry or cumin, cinnamon, seed-based spices (histamine/digestive trigger)
  • Fermented foods and cured or smoked meats and fish, canned fish (histamine)
  • All raw veggies except cucumber (digestive trigger)
  • Most fresh or dried fruits (digestive trigger)
  • Soy and corn, as much as possible
  • Coconut water (oral irritation) and pulp (digestive trigger)
  • Any meats that are not fresh (butchered within a few days, if cooked must be frozen immediately), any fish that is not fresh or wasn't promptly frozen (if cooked must be frozen immediately) - very important! (histamines)

Things I can eat a bit of (a couple chunks is ok but more can cause issues)

  • Tapioca, quinoa, other gluten-free grains - especially ok if processed (like flours)
  • Egg yolk (max 2 per day)
  • Dark chocolate
  • Cooked fennel
  • Table sugar, maple syrup, brown rice syrup
  • Gelatine

Things that I like and can eat more of (yes, there are some)!

  • Chicken, turkey, fish (especially salmon), cooked ham (not smoked)
  • White rice, especially processed (rice noodles, rice crackers etc)
  • Vegetables: well cooked bok choy and mushrooms
  • Fruits: blueberries
  • Most herbs, olive oil, coconut oil, salt
  • Processed (into butter or other things) cashew, sesame seeds/tahini, sunflower seeds
  • Hemp milk or rice milk
  • Golden pea protein powder, brown rice protein powder
