This was the photo I was taking when the attack happened...
Imagine me blissfully snapping photos of the flowers in front of my neighbour's house on the way home from running errands before it gets too hot... When suddenly I feel a tickling on my right foot, look down, and OMG ANTS SO MANY ANTS EVERYWHERE AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Then there was shrieking, flinging off my sandal, kicking and brushing... Checking if they're all gone in horror while a guy walks by looking at me like I'm crazy. "Ant attack!" I explain, he looks skeptical. I slink home, and am relieved that by some miracle I don't seem to have any bites (or stowaways).
Bruno and I went out to Illuminaries last night, me with a lantern in my bike basket and him with some fancy LED arm straps, and we rode over to Trout Lake to check out the festivities. We ran into a couple of knitter friends, and ended up sitting on the grass and hanging out for quite a while (and just as we'd said goodbye and Bruno and I were thinking of leaving the VPD came around and told everyone to scram, so I guess we had a curfew anyway!)
It was super fun, but as with most times when I do any physical activity or fun adventures too late in the evening I was SUPER WIRED when we got home, and wasn't able to fall asleep until well after 2am. I'm now waiting to see if my fibro/fatigue hangover is going to pass, before we head out to Port Moody to visit friends, or if I'm going to be coming home to a big ol' nap later in the afternoon.
Zombie Ariane out.
